Our Humane and Effective Bat Exclusion Process
Bat removal is a specialized task governed by strict regulations, as bats are protected species. At ecoPest Wildlife Management, our process focuses entirely on Exclusion, meaning we never trap or harm the animals.
1. Comprehensive Inspection
- Our trained technicians perform a detailed inspection of your property’s exterior, focusing on high-risk areas like roof lines, vents, chimneys, and fascia board gaps.
- We identify the primary entry and exit points—often tiny gaps only bats can utilize—and assess the size of the colony and the extent of the guano contamination.
2. One-Way Exclusion Device Installation
- We install specialized, non-lethal one-way exclusion devices (sometimes called bat cones or tubes) over the main entry points.
- These devices allow the bats to safely exit the structure at dusk to hunt, but prevent them from re-entering when they return before dawn.
3. Permanent Sealing and Bat-Proofing
- Once we confirm the entire colony has exited (which may take several days or weeks, depending on the season and temperature), we permanently seal all entry points using durable materials that blend with your structure.
- All secondary cracks, crevices, and potential future entry points are sealed as part of the full bat-proofing service.
4. Attic and Crawlspace Restoration
- Following successful removal, we recommend our Attic and Crawlspace Restoration service to safely remove contaminated guano and soiled insulation, disinfect the area, and eliminate all remaining odors.
